Washakius Leidy, 1873

Genus of tarsiiform primate from the middle and late Eocene of North America, belonging to the omomyid subfamily Anaptomorphinae; four species; some workers think that at least one of the species shares a more recent common ancestor with Dyseolemur than with other species of Washakius, and future revision may be in order. Estimated body mass for all species around 150 g. Dental formula: 2.1.3.3/2.1.3.3; dental morphology suggests dietary diversity among the different species including one that appears to be slightly folivorous.
