XX Male Syndrome

Condition where an individual with a 46,XX chromosome constitution presents with a male phenotype owing to an abnormal translocation of portion of the Y chromosome that contains the SRY gene to the X chromosome. All such XX sex-reversed males are sterile; some exhibit features of Klinefelter syndrome. XX males may lead normal lives; many marry. Rare (1: 9,000).
