Abdominal Circumference

Anthropometric measurement; distance around the torso measured with a tape measure placed at the level of the greatest anterior extension of the abdomen in the horizontal plane, normally the umbilicus, passed horizontally around the body. The measurement is taken after a normal expiration. Used for various body indices pertaining to adipose distribution.
