Adrenogenital Syndrome

Condition resulting from a hereditary defect in the adrenal glands in which a nonfunctioning enzyme in a metabolic pathway is produced, causing the accumulation of testosteronelike breakdown products that cause affected females to exhibit masculine characteristics and to develop rudimentary male sex organs.
