Anatomy

1. discipline that studies the structure of humans and other organisms. For a centuryand-a-half physical anthropology was a minor subfield of human anatomy. Currently the discipline is undergoing a name change in many academic departments, frequently being called cell and structural biology.

2. structure of an organism or any of its parts, as revealed by dissection.
