Aunt

1. a sister of one’s mother or father; a kinship term that identifies a genealogical or fictive degree of relationship in a nuclear family or extended family.

See father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, cousin.

2. female primate, usually a juvenile, who assists a mother in caring for her offspring; this behavior is called aunting.
