Blitzkrieg Human-induced Extinction Model

Recent proposal that the extinction of 46 species of Australian large mammal within a few centuries c. 46 kya was due to overhunting by Australian aboriginals who had arrived from Asia via the Sahul Shelf at about the same time. Aka anthropogenic overkill hypothesis, anthropogenic ecosystem disruption model.

See megafauna; cf. Pleistocene extinction hypotheses.
