Brain Mass

Mass (usually in grams) of the central nervous system that is contained within the cranium. Interspecific brain mass is highly correlated with several life history variables, and accurately predicts both gestation length and maximum life span potential in mammals. Often used synonymously (though incorrectly) with brain weight.

See brain size.
