Chest Circumference

Anthropometric measurement; distance around the chest; a tape is placed under the arms and passed along the horizontal plane at the level of the fourth costo-sternal joint; the measurement is taken after a normal expiration. Used for indexes of body frame size; in infants, chest circumference is used for nutritional assessment.
