Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Chronic leukemia of the myelogenous type, occurring mainly between the ages of 25 and 60 years, usually, but not always, associated with a unique chromosomal anomaly such as the Philadelphia chromosome. The major clinical manifestations are related to abnormal, excessive, unrestrained overgrowth of granulocytes in the bone marrow. Exhibits evidence for genomic imprinting. Aka chronic granulocytic leukemia, chronic myelocytic leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia.
