Citric Acid Cycle

Series of chemical reactions in which food metabolites are oxidized, resulting in the production of high-energy storage molecules of ATP and the by-products of heat, water, and carbon dioxide. This process takes place in the mitochondria of the cells; Aka Krebs cycle, tricarboxylic acid cycle.
