Dominant

1. exerting a ruling or controlling influence.

2. in genetics, capable of expression identical to a dominant homozygote when carried by only one of a pair of homologous chromosomes. The other allele (a) does not influence the phenotype of the heterozygote and is called recessive. Noun: dominance.
