Dual Effector Model

Hypothesis for the regulation of cell growth that posits that the role of human growth hormone is to cause the differentiation of fibroblasts into specific tissue types (such as bone, adipose, muscle, etc.) and that the role of insulin-like growth factors is to cause the clonal expansion of the newly differentiated cells.
