Early Man In Asia Hypothesis

Proposal favored in the first quarter of the twentieth century that the origin of hominids was in the great plateau of Central Asia, i.e. Turkestan, and that they subsequently spread into the southern hemisphere.

See the origin of man hypotheses.

Cf. the competing original hominid homeland hypothesis. Other proposed locations have included northeastern India and southeastern Asia.
