Endocrine Reflex

Feedback loop, usually negative, by which hormonal secretion is regulated; for example, when circulating levels of dietary glucose are high, beta cells in the pancreas reflexively release insulin (facilitated by glucokinase); this stimulates the liver to reduce glucose to glycogen. As the level of circulating glucose drops, the beta cells cease insulin secretion.
