Epidermolysis Bullosa

Heritable autosomal dominant genetic disease characterized by blisters and abnormalities of the skin. In the simplex form a mutation results in abnormal keratin; in the dystrophic form a mutation results in abnormal collagen; in the most severe junctional form a mutation results in abnormal laminin, causing a failure of the epidermis and dermis to fuse.
