Exobiology

Discipline that speculates about life beyond the earth; founded by and composed principally of biologists. Exobiologists, at a professional level, focus on microorganisms and simple life forms rather than extraterrestrial civilizations; their work includes the study of life on Earth that lives in extreme conditions, such as Antarctica, as might be encountered in an extraterrestrial environment such as Mars. Completely Darwinian in its approach.
