Frequency

Rate of occurrence; regularity per unit of time; complete cycles per unit of time.

1. in population genetics, usually expressed as a percentage; e.g. a genotype or allele frequency that ranges from 0% to 100%.

2. in behavioral studies, frequency is the number of times a particular behavior occurs during a specified period, i.e. the rate of the behavioral occurrence. Frequency should be expressed in number of occurrences per unit of time, although it is sometimes expressed as the total number of occurrences.
