Gene Dosage

Number of genes present in a diploid cell, in doses; on autosomes, the atypical presence of three or more copies of a particular chromatid (trisomy, such as Down syndrome or trisomy 21), resulting in 150% of normal gene products. In sex chromosomes, constitutions such as XXXX can produce 200% of normal for certain genes. Aka gene dosage effects.
