Genetic Adaptation

Any diachronic process of molecular change in members of a species that enhances survival; also, any specific characteristic that affects fitness in a positive manner and thus optimizes survival, that is, allows an organism to survive better in its natural environment than if it lacked the feature. Better known as biological adaptation or biological evolution.
