Genetic Fitness

Measure of relative reproductive success; the contribution to the next generation of one genotype in a population relative to the contributions of other genotypes. When all genotypes contribute equally to the next generation, then the fitness of the genotypes are all equal to 1.00; when genotypes contribute differentially, however, the contribution of the most frequent genotype is assigned a fitness of 1.00, and the relative proportion(s) of the other genotype(s) are assigned values between 0.00 and 1.00, depending upon their contribution(s).

See fitness.
