Glass Bead Volumetrics

Method of estimating the cranial capacity of either a fossil or a defleshed specimen. Glass beads about 2-3 mm in diameter are poured into the vacant cranium until full, then emptied into a volumetric container such as a graduated glass beaker or cylinder, from which the volume is read from a scale.
