Infancy

Stage in the postnatal period of the human life cycle that ranges from the end of the first four weeks after birth to one year. This period is marked by rapid growth, eruption of deciduous dentition, coordination of the nervous and muscular systems, and the beginnings of language acquisition; follows the neonatal stage.
