Insertion

1. area where a muscle attaches to a structure (usually bone, but may be other connective tissue) and produces movement during muscle contraction; the origin and insertion of a particular muscle may not be the same for different actions of the muscle.

2. addition of one or more base pairs into an existing DNA sequence.
