Left Cerebral Hemisphere

Left lateral portion of the cerebrum. In most people, the left hemisphere controls analytical and verbal skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. The left hemisphere is separated from the right cerebral hemisphere by the longitudinal cerebral fissure, but portions of the two hemispheres are connected internally by the corpus callosum. Each cerebral hemisphere contains a central cavity called the lateral ventricle.
