Mandibular Condyle

Rounded process at the most posterior and superior projection of the ascending or mandibular ramus. Each process consists of two portions: a neck, and the articular condyle that it supports. The condyle is an oval surface that articulates with the articular disk of the temporomandibular joint of the temporal bone. Aka condylar process, processus condylaris mandibulae.
