Manipulation

1. alteration of the environment in some way by an animal. This includes nest making, nut cracking, tool making, etc.

2. act of maneuvering another individual into performing behavior that benefits the individual initiating the behavior. Not all behavioral biologists accept that such intentional behavior is present in nonhuman animals.
