Marsupial

Animal belonging to the subclass Metatheria; the only extant order of metatherians is Marsupalia. Most marsupials have a pouch (the marsupium) that contains milk glands and shelters the developing young; well-known examples are opossums and kangaroos. Many, but not all, living marsupials are found in Australia.
