Matriline

Pertaining to the lineal descent of anything passed from a mother to her offspring such as access to territory or other resource, social status within a dominance system, or specific genes that display a pattern of maternal inheritance such as those contained in mitochondrial DNA; matrilineal. Aka uterine descent, matrilinear inheritance.
