Metabolic Theory Of Aging

Intracellular, systemic model of aging in which the major premise is that longevity is inversely proportional to metabolic rate across many species, and that it thus affects aging by some unknown mechanism. In its original form, many exceptions to the general thesis were found, but it has been reformulated as the free radical theory of aging.
