Mixed Fauna

1. fauna found in association after death that lived in different niches during life, and brought together after deposition; see taphonomy.

2. a transitional fauna, e.g. both cold- and warm-tolerant fauna that appear together in a region during a period of temperature change such as the PleistoceneHolocene transition.
