Posterior lobe of the pituitary gland, the neural portion of the gland. It consists of the neural stalk (infundibulum), which is continuous with the hypothalamus, and the neural lobe, which is the main body of the neurohypophysis. Aka posterior pituitary, posterior lobe of hypophysis, posterior lobe of pituitary gland, lobus posterior hypophysis.
