Odd-nosed Monkeys

Term used for the Asian colobine monkeys that belong to the genera Nasalis, Simias, Pygathrix, and Rhinopithecus. These monkey’ noses range from a snub-nose in which the nares are deeply recessed, to a small upturned nose, to a large pendulous nose (in the male proboscis monkey). Pygathrix and Rhinopithecus are also referred to as snub-nosed monkeys.
