Old Age

Stage in the human life cycle that commences variably after the child-bearing years, but which may not occur (according to some sources) until after middle age and/or another period of transition to full maturity. Old age is characterized by a noticeable decline in the function of many body tissues or systems in late adulthood, and a shift or transition in community roles.
