Parietal Lobe

Portion of each cerebral hemisphere that lies beneath the parietal bone; bounded posteriorly by the occipital lobe, anteriorly by the frontal lobe, and inferiorly by the temporal lobe. Among the functions of the parietal lobes are the understanding of speech and formulation of words to express thoughts and emotions, and the interpretation of textures and shapes.
