Parotid Gland

Salivary gland located between the skin and the masseter muscle of the posterior portion of the lower jaw just anterior to the ear, and connected to the oral cavity by the parotid ducts. The parotid gland secretes a clear watery serous saliva that is rich in the carbohydrate-splitting enzyme amylase.
