Post-transcriptional Processing

Modifications to pre-RNA molecules within the nucleus, in which pre-mRNA is transcribed from the DNA cistron, the methyl cap and poly-A tail are added, introns are removed, and within the spliceosome, the exons are spliced together to form the post-processing mRNA product that will leave the nucleus.
