Post-translational Theory Of Aging

Intercellular, stochastic model of aging in which the major premise is that modifications to the structural matrix of macromolecules increases with the age of an organism. Such time-dependent modifications as increased cross-linkage of proteins such as collagen impair normal molecular function and reduces the overall vitality of an organism.
