Power Stroke

1. second sequence of the masticatory cycle in which food is crushed and ground by the occlusal surfaces of the teeth. It consists of two phases: buccal phase and lingual phase.

2. part of the contraction cycle in a muscle sarcomere in which the crossbridge flexes, pulling the actin filaments towards the A band.
