Restless Leg Syndrome

Condition characterized by feelings of creeping and crawling, aching, and tingling in the lower limbs; affected individuals experience delayed onset of sleep and multiple awakenings. A susceptibility gene has been mapped to HSA 12q. About 1 in 20 humans experience RLS. A similar gene, timeless, may have been found in the fruit fly.
