Ruga

Crease in a structure that results in a corrugated appearance. Plural: rugae. Rugae serve various functions. In the human (and many other primate) stomach, they stretch to expand the surface area of a full stomach. In some primate pinnae, they may help direct sound waves into the external auditory meatus.
