Sinus, Sinuses

Cavity or cavities in bone or other tissue; in living bone they are lined with epithelium. Examples of sinuses in bone include: ethmoidal sinus, frontal sinus, maxillary sinus, paranasal sinus, and sphenoidal sinus. Examples of sinuses in the brain include: dural venous sinus, marginal sinus, occipital venous sinus, sagittal sinus, sigmoid sinus, straight sinus, and transverse sinus. Examples of sinuses in other tissues include: carotid sinus.
