Sound Spectrogram

Two-coordinate graphical representation of sound frequencies produced by animals and recorded by an instrument called a sound spectrograph (more recent technology has produced spectrum analyzers) used in the study of bioacoustics; this type of instrument can pick up frequencies within the human hearing range as well as sounds being emitted by animals that the human ear cannot detect.
