Spectrum Hypothesis

Model attempting to explain the position of the Neandertals proposed by J. S. Weiner and B. Campbell, who argued that the variation in past species would have been as extensive as in Homo sapiens today, and that Neandertals and certain archaic groups should thus be sub-specific variants of humans, e.g. Homo sapiens neanderthalensis.
