Sperm Dilution Effect

Condition that occurs after a male has had repeated copulations over a given period of time, such as when females in a primate society are in estrus; the amount of sperm contained in the semen is reduced after each ejaculation, making his chances of producing a conception less with each additional female he copulates with during a given period of time; it is to his advantage to have fewer copulations in order to have a sperm-rich ejaculate.
