Stratum Corneum Epidermis

Outer and fully keratinized layer of the epidermis; the stratum corneum is the pigmented portion of the skin. Peoples of the Far East have a thicker stratum corneum than is found in other human populations; this results in a yellowish hue being imparted to the skin and also prevents the fine wrinkles associated with advancing age of European populations.
