Sympathetic Division

One of the two divisions of the autonomic nervous system. The sympathetic division arises from the thoracic and lumbar regions of the spinal cord and consist of those nerve fibers that are involved with unconscious preparation for energy-expending, stressful, or emergency situations; colloquially referred to as the fight or flight division. The sympathetic division innervates the same effectors as the parasympathetic division, but the effects are generally antagonistic. Aka sympathetic nervous system.
