Transformation

1. change in form, appearance, and/or structure; makeover; metamorphosis.

2. in genetics, process of transferring genetic information between cells by means of DNA, common among certain prokaryotes.

3. in statistics, the creation of a new variable from the values of an old variable by systematically changing all the old values by some constant coefficient or offset.
