Tree Shrew

Vernacular for the mammals belonging to the Order Scandentia, consisting of one family, the Tupaiidae, five genera, and between sixteen and nineteen species. Tree shrew is also the common name of the eleven species of Tupaia. Used as models of the earliest primates.
