Trisomy

Form of aneuploidy in which one chromosome is present in three rather than the normal two copies as in the other chromosomes, resulting in an aneuploid count of 47 instead of the normal

46. Adjective: trisomic. An example in humans is trisomy 21 (Down syndrome).
